Study of effects ofCordyceps sinensis on natural killer cells in leukemia
摘要
The effects ofCordyceps sinensis (CS) on peripheral natural killer cells from healthy subjects and from leukemia patients were studied. The results showed CS could augment natural killer cell activity. The dose-dependent effect was found within the range of the dosage adopted for the tests (r=0.984
P<0.01; r=0.988
P<0.01). Furthermore
the results suggested CS could also improve CD16 marker expression on the surface of lymphocytes and the binding capacity of K562 cells. Cytotoxicity was not present when the peripheral blood mononuclear cells were co-incubated with CS. These results suggested CS could be exploited and utilized as a biological response modifier in the treatment of leukemia.
